Foam Pigs with Brushes
Foam pigs with brushes have a stronger cleaning function. The steel brush is made of carbon steel or stainless steel, which has high hardness. So, in the process of cleaning, the steel brush can be more fully in contact with the impurities on the inner wall of the pipeline. Therefore, they can provide effective cleaning of the hard scale on the inner wall of the pipeline.
The material of foam pigs is PU. They have the advantages of high tear, high wear resistance, good sealing performance, high pass rate, not easy to jam, accurate size, and so on. The head is tapered so that it can better passage through the pipeline. At the same time, it can be coated with high wear-resistant materials to further improve the wear resistance and sealing performance. So the foam pig has a hook on the front, which makes it more suitable for mechanically tractable pipe cleaning.
Application:
Oil pipelines, natural gas pipelines, chemical pipelines, water pipelines, and other pipelines’ cleaning and experimental pigs applications.
Foam pigs with brushes are especially suitable for subsea pipelines. Besides, they are suitable for cleaning pipelines with bending radius of elbows, and pipeline cleaning without construction drawings in early construction.

Disadvantages:
- Water absorption is not as good as low density foam pigs
Some foam pigs are made of PU foam. The advantage of low-density foam pigs is their good water absorption performance. Because of adding wear-resistant coating, pigs can clean pipes better. The disadvantage is easy to be broken. So pigs made of this kind of material are not suitable for long-distance pipelines. High-density PU foaming is generally adjusted with other fillers. Adding filler products makes the products become fragile.

And it can be used to remove moisture and oil in the new pipeline. It can also be used to remove sludge and soft dirt from pipes.

The Pig with a wire brush on the outside can be used to remove the calcareous scale which is very hard and plug the scale into the heating furnace. So it usually work for the basic treatment of pipeline lining.
